More than 60 Georgian citizens deported from Germany

Today, 65 Georgian citizens have been expelled from Germany. Of them, 59 applied for asylum in Saxony, but were refused.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 6, Germany announced that it restricted the acceptance of refugees from Georgia. "Georgia is a safe country. We do not believe that asylum claims should be granted," an official of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) stated then.

The Georgian citizens were deported with a charter flight from Leipzig to Tbilisi. The citizens of Georgia were expelled from Saxony, Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Lower Saxony, the agency "InterPressNews" reports today with reference to the MIA for the Federal State of Saxony.

Nine of the deported citizens were taken to the airport from places of detention, since they were serving their prison sentences, the "First Channel" Georgian TV Channel reports.
