Soldier dies at military base in Georgia

The truck that was bringing soldiers from exercises tipped over; one soldier perished and two others were injured, the Georgian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported.

The soldiers were returning from shooting training at the range of the Vaziani military base, located 25 kilometres from Tbilisi. "As a result of the accident, the driver, Private Giorgi Daganashvili, Private Vazha Shatirishvili, the commander of the truck, and Giorgi Vardzelashvili, a machine gunner, received injuries," the MoD reports.

Vazha Shatirishvili died on the way to the hospital. Daganashvili and Vardzelashvili were hospitalized, the "News-Georgia" has added.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 23, 2017, three Georgian soldiers were wounded in Afghanistan.
