Armenian judge wounded at house shelling
Arman Mkrtumyan, a former Chairman of the Court of Cassation, received two gunshot wounds, but did not want to stay in hospital, doctors said.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that late on August 28, three masked men penetrated into the territory of Arman Mkrtumyan's household in the village of Dzorakhbyur in the Kotayk Region and opened a random fire from submachine guns. One suspect of the attack was detained.
After the attack on Arman Mkrtumyan, an ambulance took him to hospital, where doctors diagnosed gunshot wounds in the left lower part of the lumbar area and the lower part of the left forearm, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the "Erebuni" Medical Centre.
"However, Mkrtumyan refused from hospitalization; his wounds were treated at hospital; and he returned home," the doctor on duty said.
Arman Mkrtumyan and his son Gor ran out into the yard to armed masked men and managed to resist them, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press service of the Armenian Police. According to an official of the Police, Arman Mkrtumyan managed to neutralize one of the attackers with a submachine gun by firing at him from his own Walther gas pistol. This man turned to be a certain Rizhenko, a resident of Gyumri. Two other assailants fled; now, the police try to establish them.
