International film festival held in open air in mountains of Abkhazia
Today, the 8th annual international open-air film festival "A Point in the Infinite Universe" has finished in Abkhazia. 36 films were shown during the festival.
Last year, in Cyprus, the film festival attracted more than 300 spectators. This year, the event was held in the Kodori Gorge in the village of Amtkel, located 1.5 hours from Sukhumi.
The international open-air film festival "A Point in the Infinite Universe" is held annually starting from July 2011. Author's films are also shown during the festival.
For three nights in a row, the audience watched open-air films. The shows were started with the sunset.
"Every time, when choosing a venue for the festival, we try to trust some inner feeling. This year, friends from Abkhazia called us to visit their place. And when we arrived in the place, we realized that we wanted to hold the event there," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Andrei Lukov, a film director and an organizer of the festival.
According to him, the idea of the film festival is to realize that in itself, the art cannot be judged by the jury and selected on the principle of "who is better and who is worse." "For us, all participants are equal, and we chose exactly those films that touched us," Andrei Lukov added.
