Police refute involvement of killed Kabardino-Balkarian native in armed underground (+video)
On August 23, in the centre of Moscow, a native of Kabardino-Balkaria attacked policemen without reasons and was shot dead.
According to sources, the attacker was Renat Kunashev, a 31-year-old native of the Baksan District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR). He was not involved in an armed underground and had no connections with criminals.
The "Interfax" reported with reference to its source that Renat Kunashev professed Islam, as it was clear from his accounts in social networks and testimonies of his friends.
When attacked by the suspect, the policemen were returning from their posts at the Embassies of Chile and Gabon. They fired a warning shot and after that opened fire to defeat the attacker. The policemen wounded him to his chest and head, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
