Four witnesses came to a hearing in the case against Oyub Titiev, the head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Grozny, while the remaining witnesses did not appear for unknown reasons, the court reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 11, Oyub Titiev was arrested on the charge of marijuana possession. He stated that the drugs had been planted to him and filed a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). The trial in the Oyub Titiev's case takes place since July 19. On August 1, nine witnesses policemen of the Kurchaloi ROVD (District Interior Division) came to the trial. The defence found their testimonies useless.

At the trial, the Oyub Titiev's interests are represented by advocates Pyotr Zaikin and Marina Dubrovina.
