Resident of Georgia arrested after threats of IS supporters
The Georgian "Palitranews" TV Company has posted a video of supporters of the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, containing threats addressed to those involved in special operations in Georgia. Malkhaz Tokhosashvili, a suspect of illegal weapons possession and involvement in the IS was arrested.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the special operation held on November 21 and 22, 2017, three suspects of terrorism were killed in an apartment building in Tbilisi.
One of the casualties was identified as Akhmet Chataev, an ethnic Chechen, suspected of involvement in the terror act, committed at the Istanbul Airport in June 2016. In December 2017, the State Security Service (SSS) of Georgia announced detention, in the Pankisi Gorge, of five more suspected members of the Chataev's grouping. One of them, Temirlan Machalikashvili, died in hospital.
The captions of the above video contain threats to the law enforcers and the Georgian authorities, whom the militants accused of killing their "brothers" in the special operations in Tbilisi, the "InterPressNews" has reported.
Also, during the search of Tokhosashvili's home, they found IS' flags and other symbols, the "Sputnik-Georgia" reports. At the same time, he himself has denied the charges.
According to the "Rustavi-2" TV Company, law enforcers found five cartridges and a grenade part in Tokhosashvili's place.
Special services were interested in Tokhosashvili since 2016 in connection with the videos on the Internet with the propaganda of the IS.
