Residents of Krasny Sulin demand to hold a referendum on pension reform

Today, in Krasny Sulin, a rally against a raise of the retirement age was held in front of the district palace of culture. According to the police, it was attended by 180 people. Meanwhile, organizers reported about 300 participants of the action, and according to the assessment made by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, 240-250 people came to the rally.

Oleg, a 27-year-old participant of the rally, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he already thinks about his future. "Due to the pension reform, they want to patch holes in the budget. Oligarchs' banking accounts abroad are frozen. And now they want to compensate for the losses of the oligarchs at the expense of ordinary people," the man believes.

At the end of the rally, the organizers read a resolution calling for the resignation of the government, removing the bill on a raise of the retirement age from the consideration by the State Duma, introducing a moratorium on a raise of the retirement age, and bringing the issue to the national referendum. The resolution also contained demands to abolish VAT as "a factor slowing the economy growth," to introduce a moratorium on price increases, utility tariffs, prices for gasoline, and other fuels. The participants of the rally unanimously approved the resolution.
