In Sochi, over 400 people involved in search for two children carried away by river
In Sochi, large-scale activities are underway to search for two children, who were carried away by the river.
The incident occurred in the Plastunka village in the Khosta District on August 3. Four persons - a man, a woman, and two children: a four-year-old and a 16-year-old - decided to cross a river. Due to the rain, the level of water in the river and the speed of the current began to increase. The people failed to cope with the water flow and they were blown away by the current, reports the website of the city administration.
The woman managed to swim out. She reported to rescuers that the river had carried away her relative and two children. Later, the rescuers found the man. He got a head injury, but refused to be hospitalized.
The search for the children carried away by the river involves 30 rescuers, 250 policemen, and more than 40 fighters of the National Guard of Russia. The city administration involved in the search for the children more than 40 Cossacks, and about 50 volunteers also took part in the search.
