Armenian MoD sends its officers to Noble Partner 2018 exercise in Georgia

Four Armenian officers will take part in the Noble Partner 2018 multinational military exercise of partners and NATO countries, reported the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD). The presence of the Armenian officers at the exercises will not violate the Armenian-Russian relations, said the political analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 29, more than 3000 soldiers arrived in Georgia to take part in the Noble Partner 2018 multinational NATO exercise, which will be held in August. In total, more than 3000 soldiers from 13 countries will take part in the exercise.

Armenia will take part in the Noble Partner 2018 multinational NATO exercise at the invitation of the Georgian MoD, wrote in the social network Facebook Artsrun Ovannisyan, the spokesman for the Armenian MoD.

"This year, Armenia will send four officers to the exercise," Artsrun Ovannisyan said.

Participation of the Armenian side in the exercises will not affect the Armenian-Russian relations, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by political analyst Johnny Melikyan, a researcher of the Centre for Regional Studies of the Armenian Academy of Public Administration.

According to him, earlier, the Armenian side has not participated in the military exercises, in which Russia was directly or indirectly regarded as a conventional enemy.

"This is a consensus that is present in the Armenia's foreign policy, and this is a message to the Kremlin," the political analyst explained.
