Azerbaijan claims shelling of its positions in five villages

On July 29-30, the ceasefire regime on the contact line at the border with Armenia and in the Karabakh conflict zone was violated 92 times, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) reports today.

The number of the Azerbaijani positions which came under fire includes the villages of Gyzylgadjyly, Bala Jafarly, Agdam, Mundjuglu, and Zamanly, the Azerbaijani MoD's website reports today.

According to the report, large-calibre machine guns were used during the shelling.

By 9:05 a.m. Moscow time on July 30, spokespersons for the MoDs of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh did not post on their websites any comments on the statement voiced by the Azerbaijani MoD.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 29, Azerbaijan accused the Armenian side of 83 cases of shelling per day, and a day earlier of 104 cases of shelling. On July 28, Nagorno-Karabakh claimed about 300 cases of shelling in the Karabakh conflict zone during the week of July 22-28.
