Rally against pension reform gathered over 1000 residents of Rostov-on-Don

They came to the rally with posters "No to cannibalistic pension reform!", "No to increase of retirement age!" and "Pension reform is genocide of Russian people!"

On Saturday, June 28, different Russian regions, including those in Southern of Russia, held actions against the pension reform. In Volgograd, the action brought together more than 2000 people; in Krasnodar, policemen disrupted a picket against the reform.

On July 19, Russian State Duma MPs approved the pension reform bill, which suggests an increase an increase of the retirement age for men from 60 to 65 years, and for women – from 55 to 63 years. One of the main arguments of the authorities in favour of the reform is the increased life expectancy of Russians.

More than a thousand people took part in the rally in Rostov-on-Don, Evgeny Bessonov, one of the organizers, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The rally participants expressed outrage at the pension reform, saying that it violates people's rights and will bring people to poverty.

The rally aroused interest among many passers-by.
