Turkish media: a daughter of a Chechen official detained for involvement in IS*

Seda Dudurkaeva, a daughter of Asu Dudurkaev, the former chief for the Federal Migration Service (FMS) Department for Chechnya, left for Syria several years ago. She is detained in Istanbul on suspicion of having ties to the terrorist organization IS (a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), the Turkish media reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in November 2013, Asu Dudurkaev resigned from the post of the chief for the FMS Department for Chechnya at a request of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, who explained his personnel decision by the citizens' complaints about the work of the Chechen FMS Department and the stay of the Asu Dudurkaev's daughter "among bandits" in Syria. Later, it was announced that Asu Dudurkaev had gone to Syria to return his daughter.

Seda Dudurkaeva was detained in Istanbul during antiterrorist raids, the "Dozhd" (Rain) reports today with reference to the newspaper "Vatan".

The detention of Seda Dudurkaeva was confirmed by the Turkish newspaper "Daily Sabah", which reported that in total, during the antiterrorist raids held on July 4, five persons were detained, the TASS reports today with reference to the "Daily Sabah".

After her move to Syria several years ago, Seda Dudurkaeva became a wife of Abu Umar al-Shishani (Tarkhan Batirashvili), a Georgian citizen, a commander of a terrorist grouping, who was killed in 2016. Earlier, the father of the detained woman had been offered assistance to return his daughter to the homeland, but he stated he would solve the problem on his own and finally failed. Seda Dudurkaeva was detained in Istanbul together with two sons of Abu Umar al-Shishani, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the "Daily Sabah".
