About 100 real estate objects arrested in Dagestani officials' case

Among the arrested property there are apartments and shares in private houses owned by relatives of Rayudin Yusufov, the "Kommersant" reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Abdusamad Gamidov, the former chair of the Dagestani government, and his deputies Rayudin Yusufov and Shamil Isaev and Shakhabas Shakhov, the former Dagestani Minister of Education, were arrested on the charge of fraud for the amount exceeding 100 million roubles allocated for the social sphere and investment programme of Dagestan.

On June 28, the Basmanny Court of Moscow extended the arrest of the officials until September 30, and the same decision was pronounced concerning the property arrested in their case. The Court dismissed the arguments of the defenders, who insisted that relatives of Abdusamad Gamidov, the former chair of the Dagestani government, were able to purchase real estate objects independently, without financial support from the former official.

In total, the list of property objects, which, according to investigators, were acquired by the officials in a criminal way, included about 100 apartments, houses, land plots, and office buildings. Some of the above facilities were acquired by the officials long before they were appointed to high positions in the government, the "Kommersant" reports today with reference to advocate Dagir Khasavov.

Besides, the investigators also arrested Makhachkala apartments and shares in private houses owned by other close relatives of Rayudin Yusufov, including his son, brother, sister, and nephews.
