Chief of bodyguards for former Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan arrested
The court arrested Major General Vachagan Kazaryan on the charge of illegally enriching and concealing incomes.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vachagan Kazaryan, who was the chief of the bodyguard service for Serzh Sargsyan, the third president and the former Prime Minister of Armenia, was detained on June 25. After his detention, a large amount of money was seized from Vachagan Kazaryan, reported the press service of the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia.
Serzh Sargsyan stayed at the position of the Prime Minister only during six days, and on April 23, he announced his resignation against the backdrop of the "velvet revolution." On May 8, opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan became the chair of the government of Armenia and the actual leader of the country.
