Egyptian authorities got interested in national team's failure after it came to Grozny

An inquiry has been launched in the Egyptian parliament into the failed performance of the national team at the FIFA World Cup-2018, and the team's participation in promotional actions of Chechen authorities. Ramzan Kadyrov has denied any links of the team's failures with its accommodation in Grozny.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Egyptians lost all their three matches at the World Cup. Journalists have associated the failures with the remoteness of Grozny from the Russian cities, where the team of Egypt played its matches.

According to the Al Arabiya TV Channel, the Egyptian Committee for Youth and Sports Matters will set up a commission to investigate the "facts of violations" regarding the Egyptians at the World Cup.

In particular, the committee got interested why at the hotel, where the team players lived in Grozny, there was a "group of actors and businessmen."

Also, the committee will study the "unauthorized use of the image" of the team player Mohamed Salah. On June 22, footballers agreed to come to Kadyrov for dinner, at which the latter awarded the title of honorary citizen of Chechnya to Salah.

The committee believes that by doing so Kadyrov "has set up the British mass media against the footballer, as there are conflicts between Great Britain and Chechnya."

The Salah's decision to take the title of honorary citizen of Chechnya was "a big mistake," the Arabic Post quotes the spokesman of the British "Liverpool" FC, for which Salah plays.

Now, Salah believes that the Egyptian Football Federation "threw him into a trap of political deception."

"We gave a worthy reception of the team of Egypt. There were no remarks, on the contrary, they express gratitude," Kadyrov has stated in his turn.
