Case against Armenia's Premier Pashinyan closed

Today, the Investigating Service of Armenia has announced that the criminal prosecution of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his supporters within the case of mass protests in Yerevan has been stopped for lack of corpus delicti (crime elements).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nikol Pashinyan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sasun Mikaelyan, the MPs from the "Elk" oppositional bloc, were among the 277 persons, detained by policemen in Yerevan on April 22; the detainees demanded the resignation of Serzh Sargsyan from the post of the Prime Minister of Armenia. On the following day, all three MPs were released.

The Special Investigating Service of Armenia has decided to close the criminal case for lack of corpus delicti, the Service has announced in its website.

Let us remind you that protests in Armenia culminated in resignation of Serzh Sargsyan from the post of Prime Minister; and on May 8, Nikol Pashinyan himself was elected to this post.
