Three residents of Chechnya fined for posting Timur Mutsuraev's songs on social network

Three users of social networks fined in Chechnya for posting banned songs of Timur Mutsuraev, said they were not aware about the ban, an official from the Prosecutor's Office reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the period from 2016 to June 2018, in Chechnya, at least 16 people were fined for disseminating banned songs of Timur Mutsuraev.

Timur Mutsuraev is well-known in Chechnya since the first military campaign. He sang in Russian songs about war, and later, his songs got religious motives and appeals for jihad. In 2010, more than 20 songs of Timur Mutsuraev were recognized as extremist and included in the federal list of banned materials.

The Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya revealed three new facts about the dissemination of the Timur Mutsuraev's banned songs in the "VKontakte" social network, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed today by a prosecutor.

"By a decision of the Nozhai-Yurt District Court of the Chechen Republic, each of three offenders was fined 1500 roubles," the official from the Prosecutor's Office reported.

According to him, all three residents of Chechnya explained their actions by not knowing about the ban on the dissemination of the Timur Mutsuraev's songs.
