Over 42,000 attend FIFA World Cup match in Rostov-on-Don

The World Cup football match Saudi Arabia-Uruguay that took place in the Rostov-Arena stadium was won by South Americans 1:0. The match was attended by 42,678 spectators, the "R-Sport" reports.

Townspeople and fans told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about their impressions.

"I'm a fan of Uruguay; it's a beautiful country with a big heart. Do you know that this country was the first to recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide? I'm Armenian; and I'll support Uruguay!" a fan named Armen told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"I came from Moscow; I like everything here, but it's very hot; and there are very few trees near the stadium. I arrived in advance and couldn't find any shadow in the park, "said Ivan Nikolaev, a Muscovite.

"Blockings are irritating. The World Cup is great, when you watch it on TV; in reality, too many restrictions are imposed on people," said Matvey, a fan, who visited the fan zone today.

Among those who came to the fan zone, there was a group of defrauded housing investors of the "Evropeisky" Housing Cooperative (HC). They wore T-shirts with the inscription "Republic of Defrauded Housing Investors".

"We've come in a small group to tell residents and guests about the danger of investing into housing in Russia in general and in Rostov-on-Don in particular," Nadezhda Rogoznaya, a co-investor of the above HC, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
