Investigators report results of search at Manvel Grigoryan's places
Law enforcers conducted searches in a summer cottage of Manvel Grigoryan, the head of the "Erkrapa" Volunteer Union, in Nagorno-Karabakh, and in Yerevan, an office of the Volunteer Union was also searched. The law enforcers found there rounds, ammunition, army food supplies, and firearms.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 16, retired General Manvel Grigoryan, an MP from the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), was detained on suspicion of illicit arms trafficking. On June 19, it became known that a criminal case was instituted against Manvel Grigoryan about the large-scale embezzlement of goods intended for the needs of the army.
On June 19, by a majority of votes, the Armenian parliament decided to deprive Manvel Grigoryan of MP's immunity and after that he was taken into custody for two months.
At a request of the Armenian National Security Service and the Special Investigation Service (SIS), law enforcers of Nagorno-Karabakh conducted a search in a summer cottage owned by Manvel Grigoryan, the head of the "Erkrapa" Volunteer Union. The law enforcers discovered there a large quantity of canned meat, cigarettes, military uniforms, fuel, and 7.62- and 5.45-mm calibre rounds for a submachine gun, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed today by the press service of the Armenian SIS.
The Armenian police also conducted a search in the Yerevan office of the "Erkrapa" Volunteer Union. Law enforcers discovered there a large amount of cigarettes, rounds of various calibres, optical devices for a submachine gun, a Baykal pistol, a Vepr hunting rifle with an optical tracker, Sarsilmaz and TO38 rifles, carbine, rifle butts, a mine detector, military uniforms and other items, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed today by the police.
