Maikop holds first festive namaz in open air

In Maikop, because of the large number of participants, the Muftiate decided to hold a namaz (prayer) in honour of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr in the square near the Cathedral Mosque.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 16-17, residents of the regions of the Northern Caucasus started the fasting of Ramadan. The end of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr fell on June 15.

The fasting of Ramadan is named in honour of the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. It ends with the holiday of Eid al-Fitr to complete the fasting.

In Maikop, a festive namaz in the open air is held for the first time.

According to the Muftiate, believers from different regions of Adygea and the Krasnodar Territory and guests of the region come to Eid al-Fitr. Therefore, it was decided to hold the prayer in Square of Unity and Concord near the Cathedral Mosque on June 15, the "Yuga.ru" reports.
