Ingush residents indignant with CTO in Nazran

Persons killed in the counterterrorist operation (CTO) conducted in Ingushetia were members of a retired colonel's family, and none of them had any links with militants, and none of them opened fire on law enforcers, local residents assert.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the CTO conducted in Nazran on June 8, three persons were killed, and law enforcers took a live suspect away with them. According to local residents, two young men and their mother were killed, while their father was detained. Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov announced that the militants killed in Ingushetia were plotting terror acts to be committed on the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr.

According to eyewitnesses, the private house in which the CTO took place belongs to Police Colonel Ali Ozdoev. Meanwhile, local residents found that difficult to say it the man is an active agent of the law enforcement bodies.

Neighbours describe members of the Ozdoev family as "decent and positive people" and assure that none of them was seen involved in any illegal activities.

According to witnesses, local residents did not observe shooting from the house, contrary to the statement voiced by law enforcers. The locals treat the actions of special fighters and the whole CTO as a staged action.

Ali Ozdoev is a retired colonel, and the killing of his family members has shocked residents of the republic with its "cruelty and senselessness," the public movement "Support of Ingushetia" has declared today.

The movement "strongly condemns the monstrous practice of extrajudicial executions of Russian citizens living in Ingushetia." According to the activists' statement, in the course of the CTO, law enforcers abused their powers.
