Head of Ingushetia invites Mufti Khamkhoev to Iftar

Yunus-Bek Evkurov has stated that he forgave Isa Khamkhoev, the chairman of the Spiritual Muslims' Centre of Ingushetia for his statement about Evkurov's excommunication from the Muslim community and invited him to be his guest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 27, the republic's Muftiate announced Evkurov's renunciation from the Muslim community, stating that he oppressed the employees of the "Spiritual Muslims' Centre of Ingushetia" and local Imams. The renunciation means that Muslims will not participate in his funeral, wedding and other events.

According to Evkurov, during the holy month of Ramadan, every Muslim should think about observing the fast and preparing for the fast-breaking holiday of Uraza-Bayram.

He urged residents of his republic to forgive each other and do good deeds, noting that the doors of his house are always open to any resident, including Imam Khamkhoev.

"Please, come to my Iftar – bread and salt are always on my table," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Mr Evkurov as saying.

One of the reasons for Muftiate to boycott Evkurov was the alienation from the above Muslims' Centre of a land plot for building a cathedral mosque in the city of Magas, the "Interfax" has noted.

Earlier, residents of Ingushetia have indicated that today the renunciation from the community is inefficient.
