Oyub Titiev's advocates reported on obstacles in work on his case

The defense is always informed about the dates of the trial in Oyub Titiev's case at the last moment, said lawyer Marina Dubrovina. This was the reason why his friends and colleagues did not arrive to the trial in Grozny on Thursday.

The "Caucasian Knot" wrote that the court in Grozny extended the term of arrest of the head of Grozny's office of the HRC "Memorial" Oyub Titiev for one month, until July 9.

Titiev's lawyers learned about the previous court session on April 25 only one hour before the trial, while two of his defenders were in Moscow.

As it became known at today's session, Titiev was ill for 10 days, from May 18 to 28, but the medical certificate indicated that his state of health was satisfactory and did not preclude acquaintance with the case materials.

The investigation has so far not provided evidence of the argument that Titiev may flee, said the advocate Petr Zaikin. He pointed out that Titiev did not have a passport and could not leave Russia.
