Ingush authorities report sending a military police battalion to Syria
Today, the leadership of Ingushetia have seen off to Syria the third group of servicemen of the military police battalion from the 19th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Southern Military District.
"The situation in Syria and Russia's interests demand the continuation of the presence of our military units in this country," said Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the head of Ingushetia, as reported by his press service.
Mr Evkurov has specified in his Instagram that today 393 military policemen have left for Syria. "The guys will be busy with the mission of protecting the law and order and controlling the compliance with the ceasefire in Syrian regions," he has written.
Let us remind you that Chechnya and Ingushetia have been sending their military police battalions to Syria since December 2016.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 3, when soldiers returned from Syria, Evkurov decorated them with awards.
On December 11, 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to withdraw the Russian military grouping from Syria. According to political analysts, the main land combat units of the grouping were mercenaries from the so-called "Vagner's Group" and Chechen militaries.
