Political analysts associate actions of Georgian youth with "velvet revolution" in Armenia

In Georgia, the mood of youth was influenced by the change of power in Armenia as a result of street actions, but the resumption of protests in Tbilisi will not lead to serious political changes. This opinion was voiced by political analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

"The protest has not been stopped, and our demands are still in force," said Beka Tsikarishvili, one of the organizers of the protest action, the leader of the movement "White Noise", on the air of the "Rustavi-2" TV Channel.

Natiya Mezvrishvili, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, has mentioned the police demonstrated the video records proving sale of drugs in nightclubs, but agents of the nightclubs do not want to admit that.

The opposition has reported that the authorities started a dialogue with the protesters after the release of the song about legalization of soft drugs performed by a son of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the leader of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party. Meanwhile, the government rejects that.

Political analyst Ramaz Sakvarelidze believes that protests will be resumed if something unacceptable to young people happens, but history saw few examples of "drug addict revolutions."

Kakha Gogolashvili, the head of the Institute for Strategic and International Studies, has also ruled out the possibility of major changes as a result of the youth protest concerning the drug policy. According to him, a revolution can be provoked by unemployment and low incomes.

Young people went to the rally spontaneously, while earlier, no one succeeded in bringing youth to the streets, notes political analyst Tornike Sharashenidze.
