Ramzan Kadyrov disowns perpetrator of a terror act in Paris

Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, has confirmed the Chechen origin of an attacker on passers-by in Paris. Meanwhile, he has said that Khamzat Azimov had long been living in France and the French authorities were responsible for his deed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 12, a man wearing a beard attacked people with a knife and was shot dead by policemen. The attacker who killed one and injured four other passers-by turned out to be a native of Chechnya. Responsibility for the attack was claimed by the "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia.

"In fact, when Khamzat Azimov was 14 year old, he got a passport of a Russian citizen," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram.

According to the Chechen leader, now the Russian passport of Khamzat Azimov is not valid, since he failed to change his passport when he was 20 years old.

"He was only born in Chechnya. Meanwhile, he was growing up in France, and his personality was formed in the French society," said the leader of Chechnya.

An apartment of the Khamzat Azimov's parents was searched, the BFM-TV Channel reports. According to the TV Channel, "there is no evidence of preparation of a terror act or evidence of radical Islamist views of Khamzat Azimov and his parents."

A woman familiar with the attacker's family members said that the Khamzat Azimov's father and mother "were never seen to express radical Islamist views," the TASS reports.
