Georgian activists resume patrolling at border with South Ossetia
On May 10, activists of the movement "Force in Unity" patrolled several villages near the border of Georgia and South Ossetia, which was closed on holidays of May 7-10.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the US criticized the decision to close the border.
Georgian activists reported that they did not register any movement of cars through a checkpoint in the Akhalgori District. However, they cannot visually determine whether the checkpoint is open or not, since they are monitoring the situation from a distance of several kilometers.
Let us remind you that the problem of detention at the border has been escalated after the death of Georgian citizen Archil Tatunashvili, who was detained by South-Ossetian law enforcers in Tskhinvali on February 23. In Georgia, experts registered signs of torture on his body, reported Sozar Subari, Georgian Minister for Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees.
