Nikol Pashinyan announces suspension of protests in Armenia
In Armenia, protests are temporarily suspended because of the talks with all parliamentary factions scheduled for April 30, Nikol Pashinyan reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 29, tens of thousands of people gathered at a rally in Yerevan.
The refusal of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) to nominate its candidate for the post of the Prime Minister will increase the likelihood that some RPA's delegates will support the people's candidate, Nikol Pashinyan states. However, he has called on his supporters to stay vigilant.
The leader of the protest movement has also confirmed that the revolution does not jeopardize the Armenian-Russian relations.
"Armenia intends to develop its relations with all countries, including the European Union, the United States, Georgia, and Iran," Nikol Pashinyan emphasized.
Gevorg Ovakimyan, a participant of the rally, believes that the leader of the revolution managed to unite citizens of the country and instil hope in them.
Nikol Pashinyan was the only one who could oppose the regime and he achieved success. People would like not to make a mistake concerning him, stated Ripsime Movsisyan from Yerevan.
