In Armenia, ministers and governors from ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" resign

Today, three acting ministers and two governors representing the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" have announced their resignations in connection with the withdrawal from the coalition with the ruling party.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 25, two MPs from the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" declared their support for Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the opposition "Elk" bloc, while the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" announced its withdrawal from the coalition with the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

Among ministers and governors who have filed their petitions for resignation today, there are David Lokyan, acting Minister for Territorial Development and Administration, Levon Mkrtchyan, acting Minister for Public Education and Science, and Artsvik Minasyan, acting Minister for Nature Protection of Armenia.

Besides, Arthur Khachatryan and Ashot Simonyan, Governors of the Shirak and Aragatsotn Regions, respectively, who also represent the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun", have resigned.

The reasons for the resignation of the Minister for Public Education and Science were reported by his press secretary Lusine Margaryan. "Based on the decision of the ARF 'Dashnaktsutyun' main body to end its participation in the coalition, Levon Mkrtchyan, acting Minister for Public Education and Science, has submitted his resignation letter to the President of Armenia," reported Lusine Margaryan as quoted by the "Sputnik-Armenia".
