In Moscow, about 500 people honour memory of victims of Armenian Genocide

A mourning rally "I Remember and Demand" in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire was held in Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that every year, on April 24, residents of Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and members of the Armenian Diaspora in different countries mark the Remembrance Day of Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923.

The Armenian Genocide is recognized by such states as Argentina, Belgium, Vatican, Greece, Canada, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Uruguay, France, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. The authorities of Turkey do not treat mass killings of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire as genocide.

On April 24, in Moscow, the mourning rally "I Remember and Demand", dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire was held in Suvorov Square near the monument to Alexander Suvorov.

According to organizers of the mourning event, the place was chosen not by chance, since Avdotya (Evdokiya) Suvorova, born Manukova, the mother of Russian commander Suvorov, was a Karabakh Armenian by origin.

The organizers report that by the beginning of the rally at 1:30 p.m. Moscow time, about 500 people came to the square. The notification submitted to the authorities for sanctioning mentioned exactly such a number of demonstrators.

In their hands, the activists were holding posters reading: "Do not expect oblivion", "Denial of the Armenian Genocide is the way to new crimes", etc. The demonstrators also brought a lot of Armenian flags.
