Two Georgian citizens released in South Ossetia

On April 23, Akaki Misireli and Soso Dvalishvili, detained by border guards of South Ossetia, were set free after they had paid a fine for breaking the border.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 21, relatives of Akakiy Misireli learned about his detention. The man was grazing cattle near the Kere village in the Shida Kartli Region not far from the border with South Ossetia. The news provoked protest actions held by members of the movement "Strength in Unity", who, in particular, began patrolling the territory near the Kere village.

After he had paid a fine in South Ossetia, Akakiy Misireli was handed over to Georgian law enforcers at the checkpoint in Ergneti, the "First Channel" of the Georgian Public Broadcaster reported on its website on April 23.

Together with 66-year-old Akakiy Misireli, Soso Dvalishvili, a 31-year-old resident of the city of Gori, was also released after a trial and payment of a fine, the "Rustavi 2" TV Channel reported on its website on April 23.
