Russian special services stopped 100 Caucasians from leaving to Middle East
Today, Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, has reported that in 2017 law enforcers prevented over 100 natives of Northern Caucasus from leaving to fight abroad for terrorists. He has also stressed the need for closely monitor those who have returned to Russia from the conflict zone.
"Law enforcers' have managed to stop the departure from Russia of persons, who had intention to join international terrorist organizations abroad, including more than 100 residents of Northern Caucasus. They are now under our special attention," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Mr Patrushev as saying at a sitting in Cherkessk.
He has also emphasized the need to strengthen the prophylactics of terrorism and extremism in Northern Caucasus.
Nikolai Patrushev urged to pay special attention to the teenagers who had been trained by militants. "Minors, who had been exposed to active propaganda in terrorist-controlled territories, including training in special camps, need special attention," he said.
