Defence of Yulduz Alieva disagrees with the verdict

Today, Anastasia Shilikhina, a resident of the Volgograd Region and Yulduz Alieva, a native of Dagestan, have been sentenced to five and six years of imprisonment respectively on charges of financing Syrian militants.

The guilt of Yulduz Alieva convicted by the court in Rostov-on-Don to six years on charges of financing militants was not proved; the verdict will be appealed against, her advocate and a public defender have stated.

On April 6, in the course of judicial debates, Yulduz Alieva herself stated that she could not support terrorists who kill people, since she herself helped the sick and orphans. She noted that in the course of judicial investigation, the state prosecutor failed to explain how she had joined a criminal conspiracy with Madina Dosumova, who organized in her group the fundraising for Syrian militants.

In her last plea, Anastasia Shilikhina also stated her innocence.

The verdict to Yulduz Alieva will be appealed against, her mother Nuryan Alieva, who is also her public defender, has stated. The "Caucasian Knot" has no comments so far of Shilikhina's defence.
