Advisor to IS leader from Pankisi declared killed in Iraq
Abu-Walid Al-Shishani, who had been treated by Iraqi mass media as the "right hand" of the leader of the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization, banned in Russian by the court, was killed by the Iraqi armed forces in the north of the country. Abu-Walid Al-Shishani, or Murad Margoshvili, was a native of the Pankisi Gorge; his relatives have not yet received information about his death.
Abu-Walid was killed in a deserted area in the outskirt of the city of Kirkuk, the centre of the province of the same name. During the operation, Iraqi law enforcers found documents with information about other leaders of the terrorist grouping, the TASS has reported today.
According to the Iraqi TV Channel "Al Sumaria", the casualty was the closest associate of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the IS leader.
Murad Margoshvili's relatives living in Pankisi have no information about his death. According to his father, Irakli Margoshvili, he contacted his son a few months ago; since then, he received no information from Syria, the "InterPressNews" reports citing its source from Pankisi.
