In Chechnya, three Azerbaijani citizens sentenced for crossing state border illegally

In Grozny, the court has sentenced three Azerbaijani citizens accused of illegally crossing the state border of the Russian Federation to several months of imprisonment to be served in a settlement colony.

According to investigators, the citizens of Azerbaijan, earlier expelled from the Russian Federation with a temporary restriction on entry into Russia, changed their personal data and crossed the state border illegally. In late 2017, all three were detained by officers from the Border Guard Service of the Russian FSB Department for Chechnya, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed today by an official from the Prosecutor's Office for Chechnya.

On March 28, the Zavodskoy District Court of Grozny found a woman and two men guilty under Part 2 of Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (crossing a state border when entering Russia by a foreign citizen or a stateless person whose entry into the Russian Federation is not permitted knowingly to the perpetrator). The woman was sentenced to 4 months of imprisonment in a settlement colony, and two men to six months.
