Two defendants accused of attacking "Caucasian Knot" correspondent to be jailed

Today, in Rostov-on-Don, the court has recognized four defendants guilty of involvement in the beating of Vladislav Ryazantsev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Two of them were sentenced to imprisonment, while the rest were sentenced to punishment not related to deprivation of liberty.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 10, 2017, Vladislav Ryazantsev was beaten near the government building of the Rostov Region. According to investigators, three out of four defendants are members of the "Misanthropic Division", an extremist organization banned in Russia.

Today, in Rostov-on-Don, the Kirov District Court has found all four defendants guilty of beating Vladislav Ryazantsev. The Court sentenced Ruslan Pavlyuk to 3.5 years of imprisonment in a common-security penal colony, while Andrei Bezuglov was sentenced to three years and eight months of imprisonment in a penal colony.

Two other defendants were sentenced to punishment not related to deprivation of liberty. So, Alexander Vishnyakov was sentenced to 300 hours of correctional labour, and a minor defendant to a year and seven months of conditional imprisonment.
