Georgia wants to use sanctions as punishment for crimes against citizens in Abkhazia and South Ossetia

On March 21, members of the Georgian Parliament adopted a resolution with the demand to introduce sanctions against persons accused of crimes against Georgian citizens in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The document was adopted in connection with the death of Georgia citizen Archil Tatunashvuili.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 20, South Ossetia gave out to Tbilisi the body of Archil Tatunashvili.

The website of the Georgian Parliament announces that until June 15, the government should submit "a list of persons accused and sentenced for murder, kidnappings, torture and inhuman treatment of Georgian citizens in the occupied territory, as well as concealment of those crimes, that is, "the list of Otkhozoriya-Tatunashvili".

The Georgian Parliament has also demanded from Russia "to enforce the law against the killer of Gigi Otkhozoriya, to cancel the decision "on recognition of the 'independence' of the occupied regions of Georgia" and "not to create artificial barriers between people living on different sides of the occupation line."

Let us remind you that Georgia treats Abkhazia and South Ossetia as the territories occupied by Russia.
