A resident of Volgograd Region fined for friendship with IS* fighters
A fined man posted prohibited materials in the social network, and during the search, law enforcers found evidence of his friendly relations with IS* fighters. This was reported by the Border Guard Service of the FSB Department for the Volgograd Region.
The prohibited videos and comments were detected by FSB agents on the man's page in the social network "VKontakte". The law enforcers suggested that the content of those materials justified terrorist activities.
Today, a video with the information about the fined man, presented by the FSB, was published by the "Bloknot". The video is also available on YouTube. It shows a part of the search at the man's house. "Photo- and video materials of extremist and terrorist nature have been found, including photographs that testify to the friendly relations of the suspect and the men fighting in Syria on the side of the international terrorist organization 'Islamic State' (IS) which activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation," comments Natalia Tsurkan, the spokesperson for the Border Guard Service of the FSB Department for the Volgograd Region.
The man was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity) and fined by 300,000 roubles.
