MIA reports detention of 36 militants in KBR
In 2017, in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), 36 accomplices of illegal armed formations (IAFs) were detained; 200 KBR residents are in Syria, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2017, investigators of the KBR counted 195 its residents in Syria. The republic's public prosecutor reported on the return of 17 militants from Syria, adding that four of them were killed, and 13 others convicted.
According to the MIA, last year, 192 firearms and over 5500 pieces of ammunition were confiscated in the KBR. IN total, 12 crimes, related to financing terrorist and extremist activities, were revealed, and 11 others were solved.
About 200 KBR residents are still in Syria.
