Three residents of Chechnya accused of spreading banned songs

The cases on posting Timur Mutsuraev's songs, recognized as extremist, in a social network have been transferred to courts, the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 5 the court fined a resident of the Gudermes District of Chechnya for spreading a banned Mutsuraev's song. This was the first trial in 2018 on posting the poet's song in a social network. In 2017, according to calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", Chechen courts passed at least six judgements on similar cases.

The banned Mutsuraev's songs posted on the pages of the three local residents in the social network "VKontakte" were found by employees of the Prosecutor's Office.

"Such offenses entail a fine of up to 3000 roubles, or up to 15 days of administrative arrest," the Prosecutor's Office has explained.
