Grenade found in Georgian church
Church servants in the Shida Kartli region found a grenade among the icons, next to which was a note asking to forgive the sins.
The grenade was found in the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gori on February 19.
In his note, an unidentified man repented of his sins and asked the priests to give the grenade to law enforcement bodies. There were no threats or manifestations of hatred towards the church in the note, the "Lenta" reports with reference to Andrei (Gvazava), the Metropolitan of Gori and Ateni.
The author of the note later stated that he had kept the grenade since 2008, and he did not know how to deliver it to the police, therefore he decided to bring it to the church. A criminal case has been opened, the "Interfax" reports referring to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
