Judokas from regions of Northern Caucasus win two gold medals of European Cup

At the Judo European Cup held in Bulgaria, Ismail Chasygov from Ingushetia and Georgy Elbakiev from North Ossetia won gold medals.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3 and 4, Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, hosted the Judo European Open Cup. Azerbaijani athlete Tofiq Mamedov won the gold medal in the weight category of up to 60 kg.

On the second day of the European Cup, the Russian team won three gold medals, two of which were won by natives of the North-Caucasian regions, the "Ves Sport" reports.

Ismail Chasygov, a native of Ingushetia, who competed in the weight category of up to 66 kg, defeated Hungarian athlete Zsolt Gorjanácz, the online newspaper "Ingushetia" reports.

Another gold medal was won for Russia by Georgy Elbakiev, a native of North Ossetia, who competed in the weight category of up to 73 kg, the European Judo Union reports on its website.

Merab Margiev, another native of North Ossetia, who competed in the weight category of up to 100 kg, won silver medal for the country.

In total, the Russian team won seven medals, including three gold, two silver, and two bronze ones, the "championat.com" reports.
