Volgograd Airport suspended after bomb report

In the evening on December 31, visitors and employees of the Volgograd Airport were evacuated after a phone call about planted bomb; however, the police found no explosives in the building.

The caller stated the mining of one of the two terminals, through which domestic flight departures were carried out, Yaroslav Zimin, the airport spokesman has explained.

He noted that despite the evacuation, no flights were postponed, the “Interfax” reports.

The building was inspected by airport securities and policemen, but they found no explosives there.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that starting from September, multiple bomb threats have been receiving by the police in different Russian cities, including in Southern Russia. On December 30, after false reports of mining, visitors and employees of two Volgograd shopping and entertainment centres were evacuated.
