Police treat attack on Caucasian Knot correspondent as 'slight health damage'

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of an armed attack on Vyacheslav Prudnikov, a "Caucasian Knot" journalist, under Article 115 "Deliberate infliction of slight health damage" of the Russian Criminal Code. All night long a policeman was on duty in Prudnikov's hospital ward.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the attack on the journalist was committed on December 21 in the town of Krasny Sulin. According to Vyacheslav, the attacker opened pistol fire at him with the words "we're sick and tired of your writings on authorities."

The above Article of the Criminal Code provides for up to two years of imprisonment.

In his turn, Vyacheslav Prudnikov has noted that "all night long his wife and a policeman stayed in his hospital ward."

He has added referring to doctors that he was wounded from a traumatic pistol.
