Source reports eviction of Isa Yamadaev's family

The eviction of Isa Yamadaev's family members was accompanied by beatings, a source from the "Rosbalt" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 21, the "Rosbalt" announced that 400 fighters began to assault the houses of the Yamadaev family in Gudermes.

According to a source familiar with the situation, on December 21, law enforcers cordoned off the residential district where the Yamadaev family members lived, and after that they began to break into the houses and conduct searches. The law enforcers refused to explain the reason for their actions. Khamzat, one of the elders of the Yamadaev clan, tried to talk to the law enforcers, but he was beaten, the "Rosbalt" reported on December 21 with reference to its source.

The source of the "Rosbalt" has also reported the law enforcers announced that they "were to seize the Isa Yamadaev's house and demanded to release the house within two hours and not to appear in it anymore." No documents were presented to justify the reasons for the seizure of property, the "Rosbalt" reports.

On December 21, Djambulat Umarov, Chechen Minister for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information, stated that the information about the assault on the Yamadaev family's houses "was an insinuation."

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Yamadaev family is a Chechen clan, no less well-known than the Kadyrov family. Sulim Yamadaev, a former commander of the "Vostok" battalion, was killed in 2009, and Ruslan (Khalid) Yamadaev, a former State Duma MP, was killed in Moscow in 2008. Earlier, Isa and Badrudi Yamadaev had expressed their confidence that those crimes were supported by the authorities of Chechnya. Ramzan Kadyrov categorically denied his involvement in those crimes.
