"Caucasian Knot" correspondent wounded in armed attack

Vyacheslav Prudnikov, a journalist of the "Caucasian Knot", received gunshot wounds at an armed attack in the Rostov Region. He was operated on, and associates the attack with his professional work for the "Caucasian Knot".

According to Vyacheslav Prudnikov, the armed attack on him was committed this afternoon in the town of Krasny Sulin, in the area of the local cemetery. He said that he was in the vicinity of the cemetery in connection with his work, not related to journalism.

"I took out my camera to take some photos. Suddenly, a gray-coloured foreign-made car drove up; a young man jumped out of it, demanding to tell what I was doing there. A conflict broke out; the man tried to hit me, and then snatched out a pistol. Crying out the words 'we're sick and tired of your writings about the authorities,' he opened fire. I covered my face with my hand; and a bullet hit my elbow; then I tried to escape, and the second bullet hit me under my rib," said Vyacheslav Prudnikov.

According to his story, he was taken to a local hospital and operated on. Policemen interrogated him at hospital and took his application about the attack.
