Three armed militants killed in Stavropol
Last night, on December 9, in central Stavropol, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced. The spokesman of FSB's Territorial Department has stated that it was done to prevent a terror act.
Eyewitnesses said that tenants of the houses around the CTO venue were evacuated. Later, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reported that during the CTO, a bandit grouping was blocked in one of the houses, not specifying the number of blocked bandits.
"Three militants have been neutralized as a result of the CTO in Stavropol," the RIA "Novosti" reports citing the FSB.
"In the course of the CTO, a group of people who had planned to commit terror acts in crowded places, was blocked in No. 4/2 Simferopolsky Lane. Three armed criminals have been liquidated," the "Interfax" quotes the Territorial FSB's Branch.
According to FSB, there were no casualties among civilian or law enforcers in the CTO.
