ECtHR finds deportation of Dagestani native from Germany legitimate
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has upheld the decision to deport an 18-year-old native of Dagestan, suspected of having ties with terrorists, to Russia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 17 a German court ruled to deport the young man, who had lived almost all his life in Germany, to Russia. Law enforcers suspected him of correspondence with a member of a terrorist grouping in Syria and an Islamist from the city of Essen.
The ECtHR has found no reason to believe that in case of deportation to Moscow, the young man may face a real risk of being tortured, since he had nothing to do with the conflicts in Northern Caucasus.
