Mosque in Maikop suburb to be opened in early 2018
In the Gaverdovsky village in the Maikop suburb, the construction of a mosque for 500 people has almost been completed, reported the DUM of Adygea.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the construction of the mosque was started yet in 2014, but it was delayed because of financial difficulties. The construction of the mosque is being financed primarily from donations.
The construction of the mosque in the Gaverdovsky village is almost completed, and its solemn opening is scheduled for January-February 2018, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Ibragim Shkhalakhov, an official from the Adyg Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM).
He has noted that the mosque already holds services, and a Friday namaz (prayer) gathers about 100 believers. "The mosque is able to accommodate up to 500 believers. There is a main hall and a balcony. A large basement and a library inside the building are under construction," said Ibragim Shkhalakhov.
